How to decorate with Rose Quartz and Serenity

For the first time ever, Pantone has announced two shades as its 2016 Colour of the Year, Rose Quartz and Serenity, a pairing to create calm and tranquillity. Here’s how you can use them, either together or separately, in your own home.

Team these two pastel shades together to create a balanced, soothing mood at home. How much you want to commit to this duet of colours, is up to you. Invest in a few cushions or make a bolder statement on the walls. Together, both Rose Quartz and Serenity will make a refreshing change in time for Spring.

Soft pastel colours are known for their soothing and uplifting qualities which create calm and relaxing living spaces and bedrooms. If you’re using both of Pantone’s Rose Quartz and Serenity tones then aim to keep the rest of the scheme neutral – these shades work fantastically well with grey or taupe, but touch of deep midnight blue or silver will also depth and interest to your scheme without making the room look cluttered and chaotic. Another way to bring these colours into your home is through the use of pattern; small scale patterns such as ditsy floral prints or gingham add a real feminine touch and work especially well in pastels.
