Top colours for 2016

Posted April 4, 2016 In: /

Style Studio has been working closely with our interiors stylist to determine the top 3 colour schemes that will be adorning our homes in 2016.

1) Grey and yellow

Grey is going nowhere.  It’s still the go-to colour for interiors in 2016 and can be brought to life with the use of bright accents – such as yellow.

2) The Golden Hour – Dulux’s Cherished Gold

Cherished Gold is the colour everyone is talking about in interiors; it has a very classic feel to it and yet it can be ultra-modern depending on how it’s styled. Why not mix it up and go for ‘classic with a modern twist’. Team rich patterns in Cherished Gold that have a traditional feel, with a contemporary grey backdrop and lime green fabric accessories with a more up to date design.

3) Soft And subtle!

This palette incorporates dusty pale pastel shades and soft, earthen tones. Chalky pinks, natural taupes and powder greys are ultra-feminine and can be brought to life when contrasted with metallic accents. Copper works particularly well, but silver and gold make an equally harmonious match.  The key to this look is to keep it natural, so materials like exposed brick, lime-washed wood and bare plaster would provide a subtle and complementary backdrop.
