Autumn/Winter 2017 Interior Colour Trends!

Posted September 22, 2017 In: /

With the nights already drawing in, it’s time to start thinking about updating our home decor with Autumn/Winter seasonal trends. This Autumn there are some strong colours dominating interiors.

Key colours include Inky Blues, Greilac, Marrs Green and red crushed velvet.

Here, Style Studio’s interiors expert, Lorna McAleer shares her hot hues for Autumn 2017 and how to get the look with window fabrics from the Style Studio range.

Inky Blue

Inky blue is everywhere this Autumn. Mix this dramatic shade with other key trends like copper and metallic, or some marble, to create a striking interior scheme.

Dark grey and black are both great colours for this season. Adornments and decoration such as diamante, studs and metallic embroidery applied to fabrics are a fantastic way to add interest.

Greilac

Plum and berry shades often emerge as we head towards Autumn as interior design takes its cue from the natural colours found in seasonal fruits and foliage. However, if dark tones aren’t your thing, then opt for this year’s purple hue combination of lilac and ever popular grey to create GREILAC; a subtle chameleon like shade that can change its visual properties according to the light and setting in which it appears.

Marrs Green – The World’s Favourite Colour

In 2017 Marrs Green was voted the World’s Favourite Colour. This teal shade is an uplifting tone that sits between turquoise and blue. Marrs Green is the perfect shade to give a room a brighter aspect. It works particularly well when combined with fresh white and looks fantastic with wood.

Red Velvet

Plush materials like velvet and brocade are seeing a revival creating luxurious looks at affordable prices in the home. A sumptuous, deep-pile crushed velvet generates a feeling of luxury and grandeur – especially at the window.
